In winter they always carry more, and this is easy to explain. There is such a thing as “passes”, these are mountain paths between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, they freeze in winter. So part of the flow is redirected to air transport. But in general, you need to understand that the main routes for smuggling prohibited substances across the border are still road and rail transport, and not airplanes.

Domodedovo Airport was created as a hub for long-haul flights to Siberia, the Far East and Central Asia. Therefore, accordingly, the majority of incoming flights to Domodedovo are flights from Central Asia (hereinafter referred to as CA).

It should also be taken into account that air transport is used mainly by swallowing couriers - these are those who are trying to transport drugs in their own stomachs. Basically, about 80% of all detentions at customs are citizens from the SA.

There are many planes arriving at Domodedovo from SA, and the main problematic direction is Tajikistan. They're bringing heroin from there.
